I was lucky (very lucky) last week, and now the chronograph that originally piqued my interest in Universal Geneve is mine. Allllll mine. I'm admittedly biased, but I think this is one of the finest examples that I've ever seen. One owner and only one service marking on the caseback (from Nov '75), so definitely due for a cleaning. Thankfully, it was spared quite a bit of abuse throughout the years and likely sat in a drawer for much of it's life. More pictures to come.
Woah, you just keep doing it!! Next week will be the panda tri-compax in 100% condition. Nice pickup man and congrats!!!!
Congrats, it looks pristine! From EvilBay? Was it a BIN that you chanced upon or were you monitoring that website regularly?
I took a chance based on some pretty terrible pictures and once the PolyWatch went to work, it really shined. Gotta love terrible photographers that don't touch the watch at all before posting it! It was an auction that actually ran for 10 days, but the listing has some pretty bad errors in it that probably kept it more under the radar than it should have been (some keywords were missing). Like I said, felt super lucky to have it fall in my lap since I'd been trying to land one of these for the better part of two years.
Thanks for the elaboration. Sweeeeet reward for your diligence and taking the chance! Congrats again, and wear it in good health.
Wow stunning!!! Congrats Even though its not going anywhere as you mentioned I still need to call DIBS just in case.
I thought maybe your uncle gave it to you? Because your Nina is Evil and your uncle is...................evil?
This one is supernice - huge congrats !!!! Please a photo with all of your great UGs ! ENJOY !!! Werner
Thanks all! This one is a grail in every sense of the word, so I don't use it lightly here. I'm going to send it off for service once I can find someone to take it on with a reasonable timeframe, but I'll grab some better pictures before then. Here's a sample though
