Scouring through eBay I came across this piece, bought it and it arrived today. There’s very little info about Cronel, but it’s a manual wind, 39mm skin-diving watch from late 60s or early 70s. Added bonus is the 20mm lug width.

Nice pick-up, love these 60’s skin divers! Curious to see what’s inside.
Mind if we ask for the record what you paid?

Mikrolisk records Cronel as a trademark of Stroun Freres SA (who also owned the Camy brand, amongst others) of Geneva, Losone and Grenchen, Switzerland, first registered on November 13, 1954.

It will go to my watchmaker soon as we are out of lockdown. I would expect some sort of general swiss made movement. I paid £250.

Thanks for this. I couldn’t find any more than this either.

Great catch! I'm also a big fan of these lesser-known skin divers.
Based on what I've seen on my local market and the way the date disc looks, I'd guess that the movement inside is an eta 2783
Here's its Camy brother, which uses the fully jeweled eta 2783. IMG_20200513_111817.jpg IMG_20200513_111803.jpg
Edit: Forgot to say that, based on the movement, I suspect it is from the mid 70's

Thanks for the info and great watch you have. Mine is a manual wind.

Not mine, forgot to say that, I take an odd amount of pleasure in documenting all of these brands. I'm really curious what the movement inside yours is, since it isn't an auto.
