Title pretty much says it all. Looks like the hands on mine may have been replaced with more of an olive colored lume. I would like to find a matching set. If anyone has some or sees some please let me know -Jake Edit: This has the Bulova alphabet soup cal. 11ALACD if that helps anyone out
Is it possible to source the Bulova hands from a sister watch , the vintage Snorkel 666 from 1970 ? It has a cal 11 BLACD movement & cost about ~ €80
What do You think ? @Jwit a.k.a Jake The Snake Roberts [emoji13] Or you need more sugar & cream in your coffee......[emoji136]
I'm sure I could potentially source it from a donor watch... but if it's a fully functioning donor watch with matching lume might as well keep it as is and just have another watch I am slowly forming a devil diver sub-collection I think.
Aaaa....HAH !! @Jwit a.k.a Jake the Snake Roberts a.k.a D.J s Jakeman & Skeletor from the No 1 English Radio Station in Malaysia --> Hitz. FM I read somewhere you have a particular interest in Vintage Seikos eh [emoji136] Alright. I show you a couple of nice examples from Malaysian Sellers They are a whole lot cheaper than what you see on ebay & the best part , these Sellers as far as I know dont mess around with the dial or casing so pretty much in the original state That's the King Seiko Special 5246 -6000 Chronometer Vintage Hi Beat Combo KS 5625-7070 You'll love this 0ne ! A Rare Seiko Chrono Original Pepsi Blue Dial Cal 6139 in absolute Mint condition
An blasphemous act unheard of at that time in Hollywood movies , did you know that Marlon Brando deliberately removed the bezel of his GMT Rolex to make his role as Col Kurtz more Bad Ass in Apocalypse Now directed by the same man who also produced & co wrote the movie GodFather I II & American Graffiti ? That's also the movie that made the legendary Seiko 6105 -8110 worn by Martin Sheen a great classic for the Ages Too Bad....That's not the watch worn by Charlie's dad otherwise it would have fetched close to 4-5 Grand I should say... If you're interested in the Seiko 6105- 8110 , give me a shout [emoji136]
Oy vey @meganfox17 you are making this whole "not buying watches" for a little while so incredible hard. Those King Seikos & 6135 are equally as enticing at the 6105. I will keep you in mind when I start hunting aggresssively again! For now the watch fund has been renamed "extra home remodeling funds"
Hey @Jwit Do I have your permission to mentally torture you & mess up your grey matter with watches while awaiting ' The Jakeman ' to complete his house remodelling and refurbishing ?[emoji136] Now you actually have a LE Speedie menu to choose from , once you have been given the Blessings and Green Light to recommence shopping ! [emoji13]Yeah ! I'm also deliberately pulling this stunt to attract more forum readers to visit your already decorated thread ![emoji6]
I'm curious as to how many forum member (including me) are now about to go jam out to "Jakeman & Skeletor". Those speedies are lovely. How is your LE Speedy treating you these days?
I wear the 45 about twice a week now Fri/Sat , its my most treasured timepiece , was offered a brand new Rolex GMT Masters II Ref 116710 BLNR in exchange for my 45 ( Which I politely refused ) , it's a very unassuming timepiece because the common folks are unaware and dont realise what I'm wearing except watch dealers and watch afficionados. Yeah Jake ! 0ne more thing . I was pleasantly surprised to discover my 45 has appreciated 16.67 % in net value , a pre owned is now ~ USD1123 more expensive on the Malaysian/Singapore market ( Imagine that ! ) than mine which was all spanking brand new unworn [emoji136] on the day I purchased it from Roach in NYC
Bump. Been searching for a donor watch/movement as well but everything is either too damaged or doesn't look like it will match.
