An original one would be a modern replacement... very bad idea... yours looks good.

I am referring to an original period correct one. Of course he won't replace it for a modern replacement part...
He's just freaking out fearing that this cracked one could "Pop off" his watch at any minute...

I think he'd have a better chance catching a leprechaun for the pot of gold, which he'll need to pay for the bezel.

I think he should keep it. It adds to the originality of the watch. Acrylic bezels on dive watches frequently cracked when exposed to the actual use for which the we're intended. The water frequently got behind the top layer causing uneven discoloration and/or cracks. I would definitely leave as is.

Leave it as is! Scratches, cracks, patina dials, are the wrinkles of the watches life that give it character and tell its life story ;) My 300 has a crack at 3 o'clock as well (see avitar) and there's no way I'd change it

It won't pop off, it's glued.. and 95 % of seamaster 300 bezels are cracked

Is your friend out of his mind? Tell him that that is a very nice bezel on that SM300. Perfectly OK to look that way. Original.

If he can't stand it/ afraid of ruining the bezel, tell him to sell the SM300 and buy a modern, shiny, watch instead

If you do find one, it will be extremely expensive. Probably more than any other parts on this particular watch. It doesn't look that bad.

I blame it on the autoconnect.

Last spring, at Mercante in Fiera in Parma (Italy not Ohio) a dealer had a couple of original, vintage bezels. They were in good condition and his last price was 1.2k euros!
I like your friend's Seamaster, sometimes scars and signes of aging are charming.

Watchlovr do you mean to tell me that you used epoxy on yours? I am not sure I could bring myself to do this, I would cringe applying, then sanding, ewww no leave as is for me...
