There are so many gems in here, it's hard to choose a favourite. But watches do get a passing mention :p

Have you seen "the castle" - excellent Aussie film about fundamental constitutional law principles. Great courtroom drama!

Priceless. When you have it in you to tell His Honour to get stuffed about a hundred times, only then are you truly free. Stone walls do not a prison make...

Profound, even. And in the middle of all that he threatens to 'run amok' - excellent and surprising shift in diction.

Agree. "I'll fuckin' disturb and I'll run amok" is poetry.

    Get stuffed lard-arse!

    God I feel so free.

I think the defendant had a legitimate complaint, as he appears to have been represented by the MacKenzie brothers.

I love how the judge claims to have been called worse on the rugby pitch. You have GOT to say something like that if you've just allowed the guy in the dock to call you the C-word.

I think the defendant should be sentenced to a TV prison reality show.

I can't imagine that exchange at the Old Bailey without someone being imprisoned for contempt of court. Having served on a jury there for a month, I witnessed a defence barrister being bollocked by the Common Sergeant and that kept him quiet for an hour or two.

It wouldn't take very much 'effin and jeffin for a British judge to send him back down for contempt pretty quickly. But I guess that sort of thing passes for for standard conversational conduct in Queensland :)

I've never heard of a rant like that going very long in a US court. Priceless. Was it taped and now on youtube?

THAT would be contempt. We don't allow that in Australia. No outside/media/public cameras

Joizey too. :D Especially on the AC Expressway on a Friday night.

Better than Al Pacino's rant in "And Justice For All".
