As discussed by Desmond in the past and again more recently, counterfeit cases and dials bearing the reference 14900 have begun showing up on eBay again.

Here is an example currently listed:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Excellent-V...577344181?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item51a009beb5Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

I have reported this to eBay and the seller, we will see if either cares.

There have been many watches with fake cases and dials of this reference sold on eBay and other places. I know of a major vintage watch seller (who also promotes watch shows) who offers these parts on their website without disclosure of their origin.

    Shame on all of them,

One of the reasons I like this forum, to my unknowing eyes that is a nice looking watch with no real alarm bells that I can see. Been thinking about a "dress" watch and the connie is one that I like.

You can name whoever you want BTW, we certainly won't object to it if its a legitimate gripe and the seller in question isn't responding appropriately, Dennis had an issue with a dealer about a year ago that we've left up since he didn't deal with it correctly.

This same guy joined another forum to list these cases for sale 2 years ago. Banned his ass faster than any spammer ever. Nobody gets rooked if we can help it.

Wow. Hopefully ebay removes this. I wanted to post a pic so in the future buyers know what to look for.

I am looking to purchase a pie pan, but frankly the more research I do the less I think I will buy one from ebay.

    Girard's is absolutely correct, sir!

Frankly, I didn't want to drive any more traffic to their site. A lot of incorrectly restored watches there advertised as original as well.

Better that people simply stay away,

Unfortunately it isn't that simple since 14900 is a legitimate Constellation case reference, however it should have a NO date cal 551 movement.

Please understand that 14900 Constellations are legitimate. It is just some that are fake cases with fake dials.

As long as they land on this page instead of Girards directly I'm happy for people to find this and read about it. Much like those converted piece of shit pocket watches, people need to know about this stuff.

Yeah, the seller responded to my email and has ended the listing!
