Was happy to get the winning bet on this Speedsonic . Has a very nice looking Tritium dial and hands . But wonder a little over the case . Haven't seen polished Speedsonic before ? Is it genuine ? .Going to get it serviced before i use it . Should i do something with the case or leave as is ? As usual their is always some smuck that has scratch the case back .

The dial does look nice, as for the case it's beat indeed but can certainly be brought back to its original sparkle with a lapping machine. I suppose it depends on how the watch is working. If it's fine I'd probably leave it as it is, if it needs a service I'd probably have everything done at the same time.

It will be serviced as soon as possible . Going next week . Was it polished or did it have a sunburst finish from the beginning ? As a mark II ? This looks more polished then sunburst . And the dayring ? What is the language ? Per ?

Do you have someone local that works on these, because there are a lot of watchmakers who won't accept them for service due to the parts issues.

There are a few people in the UK who can work on them, the challenge with Sonics is the chronograph module, which is a pain in the bum to work on! It looks like a nice honest example, the case will lap back well, the dial and hands are good, nice catch! I have a few, including a few very rare ones, I think they are enormously undervalued and under appreciated watches

Sending it to Paul on Electric-Watches i think . He has serviced a couple of my f300 . Only thing is the finish of the case . Doesn't now if he does that ? Hate to say as he is such a good watchmaker . He refurbish my cone and i wasn't really satisfied with the graining of it . But will do for me:p

You may be able to get STS to do the work on the case as a part repair or might be worth asking them what the price would be to service (which would include the case) through Swisstec. The lapping work they are doing on cases is simply amazing quality, it really is, they have invested heavily over the last two years in a range of lapping machines etc and IMHO (having seen both) their case refinishing facility is better than Swatch Group and even the factory in Bienne!

Have Paul dismantle it, and try to ask member @photo500 if he can do the job on the case. He worked miracles on a couple of Chronostop cases I had!

Finally the Speedsonic watch is back . First to STS England for refurbish the case and then to Paul at electric-watches . Now it's working great and has a new crystal . Only thing that could have been is the hands . The old lume fell of . They are relumed but could have been a little darker in color ? To match the indicies better . What do you think ? Was it worth the $400 it cost ?

Very nice but why didn't you get a full service from STS that would have included case lapping and a two year warranty ?

I trusted Paul doing a great job . And had already contacted him before i did the refurbish of the case . I sent it to what i thought was the best possible for each work .

Amazing work on the case. Can anyone post a link to a youtube video or two showing that kind of work being done?
