Hi Everyone, I am doing a bit of research for a Blog post I am writing by conducting a survey. I didnt get many answers from Omega owners, so I was wondering if you guys could help me out and represent https://watchdoc.co.uk/watch-blog/watch-repair-survey/ Its really quick!
Filled it out, but last watch I had serviced was a 30+ year old Seiko quartz that needed a new batter and new seals. So my responses may not reflect the average maintenace costs, etc. some of the omegas I have aquired will likely run.
your survey assumes the person responding has one watch.. I don't think anyone here qualifies Anyway, I responded.
As above quite useless for me. But filled it out based on a quartz because that's all I would give someone that uses innards instead of movement
I'll be eighty freakin' seven years old and somebody here will still bring up that Reverso debacle, won't they?
I'm a small timer with three watches but tried answer based on my Omega, one flaw for mechanical watch owners is you can't complete the survey without answering the battery life question which obviously doesn't apply to my automatic.
Know who's telling everyone to scratch the case backs https://watchdoc.co.uk/products/watch-batteries/changing-a-watch-battery/screw-back/
And they replace watch lugs also? "We are the UK's favourite wrist watch lug and watch battery replacement service."
I see nothing in that "survey" that would indicate a deeper understanding of the current state of the "watch repair industry". The subject is as broad as it is deep and seven facile questions doesn't even get within a quark of your stated aims. I believe this is no more than banal marketing and low end advertising for the company being represented here. As you might tell, I won't be responding, unfortunately I have already clicked on the survey and can't take that back.
Oh shit, did not realize I was supposed to look at the company's web site after completing the survey. Agree the 'goal' is not really clear. Except maybe to show watches with batteries need to be opened up more often then mechanical watches.
Okay I will admit its not the most informed survey ever, I am just trying to make some blog content that is more than just "James bond watches" ect... admittedly it is more aimed at your everyday watch wearer and not your full on watch aficionado. I am thankful for all the guys who went for it though Maybe next time I will come here to see what to ask first
