Hi guys, I sent a parcel to a customer in Brazil. And he asked for a refund saying he did not receive the item.
When I use Brazilian posts tracking this is what I found.
Did he receive it or is it waiting at the post office ?
    Thank you for your help.

    Use Google Translate for Portuguese.

I know that "imposto" means "tax". My guess is that the package is being held for payment of some kind of tax.

The Brazil Post has an English language website. Put in your tracking number and it says the following:
The 40 days should be up in another few days. I would cross Brazil off the list of countries where I would ship.

Well the literal translation is that the package has been forwarded from the Logistics Unit in Curitiba do a the Unit "Released without tax charge", with delivery in 40 business days. So apparently tax payment should not be an issue (although this is indeed often a problem for personal shipments into Brazil).

Brazilian postal service (state run "Correios") can be incredibly slow for international deliveries and often are subject to strikes. An Australian company once sent me some leaflets for a trade show which only arrived 20 days after the show!

When shipping to Brazil I would strongly recommend UPS or Fedex.

Yes, encounter twice for shipping to BR. Avoid at all cost. Not sure if this is postal service issue or individual.

Lucky both case I used tracking post and use it as proof to stop the refund.

Do you mean you had the same problem ?
Ebay forced me to refund the buyer and the item never surfaced as far as I know.

You should appear to eBay. I did appear both case and get approve by eBay as is out of my control as item already arrived at buyer country.
I now remove this country from purchase list. Too much trouble.

It was ebay.com, I forwarded the tracking number and the location of the item and they automatically refunded the buyer through PayPal.

    You can try to appear.
Another place to avoid is Mexico. Never has good experience there too.
