I have been at my mums house for a bit and got chatting to a old uncle about watches and mentioned I had a few Omega,s. Mum lost her battle with cancer last week and at the funeral my uncle gave me this from another relative that had left it to him. The case is un polished and in desperate need of a clean. Came with a small Omega box. Would like to see if I could still get a NOS dial. As some scratches between 8 and 10
Sorry to read about your mum. However, the watch looks great as it is. A clean and service, new plastic and strap and it should be good.
Ciao Standy, very sorry for your loss, unfortunately my mother is in the same situation right now. Lovely Cosmic, the same I received as heirloom by my Granny, it was my Grandfather's watch. Proudly worn since then.
Another sad reminder for us all to enjoy every day to the best of our abilities. Best to you and your family.
Finally sent the Cosmic to our resident watchmaker in Canada, the great work of AL @Archer has bought this family treasure back to life. Took the advice and left the dial as original with a clean up only ,a full service, new crown and crystal and few other parts deemed needed by Al. I know the dial will never be perfect as it had some damage from being worn hard by my (proxy due to not having one) grandfather who was a manager of a agricultural college for 40 odd years and owned a farm which he worked on after retirement. Looking forward to putting a nice leather strap on it and wearing it proudly..
Mmmmmmm......yummy! Lovely C case, nice black strap on the way? Wear that one with pride Andy, but make sure you coordinate your dress to match the watch, black thongs only!
