Hey everyone, First time poster here. I've been eyeing 60s/70s Omegas for a minute and believe I've decided the size, shape, functionality, etc that will be right for me for a first purchase, everyday watch. I'm watching this, but the seller says he can't send a photo of the movement for whatever reason but is happy to open the watch and photograph after I commit to buy. He's a power-seller with 90+% feedback. It mostly says he's sold Seikos lately. http://www.ebay.com/itm/261507264516?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Let me know what you think... Thanks
If you look at the back, you'll see there is no way to open it. You need an specialtool to remove the glass and then you have to extract the movement. A watchmaker task. No expert, but the dial looks good to me.
Great - thanks. I didn't mention but I'm a bit of a novice. A friend recently explained most of what I needed to know so I'm still grasping that. Anyone else have an opinion?
Looks legit to me, and this isn't a reference in high enough demand that someone would redial or fake it.
Thanks. I think these are good too but just want a second opinion. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=271520063641Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network http://www.ebay.com/itm/151326583114Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
As explained, these are unishell cased watches and require specific tool expertise to access the movement. I also think you would be pretty OK with this particular 100% feedback seller
ok thanks. All that makes sense. Can I ask your opinion on this seamaster...? http://www.ebay.com/itm/151326583114Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Looks good to me, but I'm not very familiar with this model. Did find this though: http://www.omegawatches.com/planet-omega/heritage/vintage-omegas/vintage-watches-database?ref=15521 Not sure if these came with blue dials or not. All the fonts seem correct. Hope this helps, gatorcpa
Sorry, I don't understand you. That looks like a serial number for the movement, which would date the watch close to the 1971 date in the Omega Database listing I posted above. Some sellers do not want to disclose the entire serial number for security reasons. gatorcpa
Moderators should correct the title, OPs first inquiry is a COSMIC not a COSMIC 2000, completely different watches.
