I just bought this all steel Constellation at an auction and think it is a very nice watch in a rather fresh condition. But I wonder about the crown - is it original to the watch?
The crown is a modern replacement. The original is no longer available from Omega. The original decagonal crowns or sometimes cloverleaf, are sometimes found for sale on markets such as eBay. Edit: Wrong. There is more than one correct crown.
Is it a 14381? They seem to have been made with the decagonal crown and this one. I wouldn't change it as it's probably original IMO.
Fantastic looking watch! I have a decagonal crown available if you decide to change it: https://omegaforums.net/threads/wtt-constellation-10-sided-crown-thin-for-thick.35683/ My old 14381 came with a similar crown to yours so it may be correct:
It's the correct crown for this ref. my own has one too, as does a lot of other members. Not sure if the cloverleaf one is suitable for anything but Seamasters, though. I believe that some of the illustrations in old Omega brochures have them, but I'm not sure if they really came with them.
Thank you everyone! This is interesting as there seem to be three potential versions: octagonal, decagonal and the one which is on the watch. Since the last one is the one pictured on the ad (thank you hoipolloi!), I guess it must be the correct one. Yes it is a nice watch, and I was surprised that nobody else were interested at the auction.
Several crowns are listed for this model , including some later replacements. I believe now they may all be correct. My rose gold filled one came with a worn RG decagonal one I believe was original. Hoi your crown looks a little thicker then the others here, just the angle??
Nice watch. I love mine. Trust what the other posters have said. Crown looks original to me but I'm pretty green. Mine is a replacement and it's not quite as clean a look as yours.
