Not sure if this is relevant, or just a manufacturing variation, but the red box that my '65 Ed White came in has a slightly deeper upper half / top, when compared to the red box that my SM De Ville came in. I'm not sure if the Ed White box was original to that watch, as I didn't know the 1st owner, but I know the SM box is the original one as my grandfather bought the watch new in '68 and we have the wallet, papers, and both inner & outer boxes. Could the Speedy inner boxes be slightly 'deeper' to accommodate the extra diameter of the chrono, as compared to the typical dress watches of the day?
