hi all
Quick question.
I'm hopefully picking up my Aventurine Moonphase this week and am looking to dress it down slightly with the cordura deployment strap off the black black DSOTM.
My query is, how water resistant are these straps, given the calf skin on the inside?

Can't answer about the strap, but about the clasp, it's deployant. Be ready fo some ribbing.. 馃槈

Rib away - won't be any worse than what I deal with at work or home

So I have the answer for you. Although they're not rated for any type of water resistance, the newer cordura (like here) and coated nylon nato straps (like here) have a leather liner that is water tested. The OEM manufacturer put in water for an hour, dried it and then inspected for warping, cracking, color runoff, etc. and it came out fine. I've taken both my Silver Snoopy cordura strap and my coated nylon nato swimming, water skiing and boating and after washing with clean water and drying for 24 hours they've been none the worse for wear.

A common mistake that many people jump all over. I know of a major California parts vendor who lists it as "deployment." Even though they use the word, I still have made many deployant clasp purchases from them.
