Been researching this piece for a while, guy claims its a 342 cal movement but ive been unable to find anything similar.

Says he has the box to go with it.

It's an attractive piece if legitimate of-course, should I pull the trigger?

I would ask for clear photos of the dial straight on, inside of the case back and movement. Pretty sure the crown is a replacement.

sent him a message asking for exactly that, and if the the crown has been replaced.

I'll report back any photos/information, although I don't think he has strong English skills.

This is all I could get from him $_122.jpeg

That and "I think crown not original , omega its bad .."

I think the smart thing to do would be to avoid, which is a shame because he's only asking for $450 although seeing the movement/casback seems impossible.

Huh, sent me a picture of the caseback.
    $_122 (3).jpeg

    Low-res, but I can make out 2765 - 2?(?)0- 2764 - 2771

Not sure how much this helps.

Don't be so fast to dismiss this as a redial. When looking at the overall condition of the case, particularly the crispness of the lugs and the depth of the engravings on the back of the words SEAMASTER and WATERPROOF, it's easy to tell this watch has been VERY well preserved.

I see the SWISS MADE very low on the dial, something most redialers can't get correct. This might very well be an original dial and nice watch. I'd want better pictures, and if the seller can get the caseback off there's absolutely no reason to avoid sending the buyer a movement shot unless something fishy is going on.

ps - The crown is surely a replacement.

Looks really clean to me. $450 seems like a damn good price for a watch in that good condition from that era.

Its a real beauty. I have my dad"s old bumper and love it. I will wait to see the high resolution shots of the movement. The guys here will know exactly whats up when they see it. Enjoy the watch.

Nice looking watch! Great find if it is a jumbo! Shouldn't the dial be signed Seamaster on this reference with a Seamaster signed case?
