    Hello!

    I am on the lookout for a stainless steel Constellation, and in my search i have stumbled upon this rather nice cal. 564.

    I am a bit unsure about the originality of the dial, as i haven't seen many with arabic numerals or with hands without any form of inlay or lume. But then again, there is not any lume or inlay on the hour markers, so perhaps its not a bad sign.
    I am learning towards it being an original dial as the writing looks correct and crips, but i am by no means an expert in Constellations, so some input would be greatly appreciated! :)

    The ref. nr is 168.005 and should be from around 1969.
    The pictures aren't the best, but i hope they suffice!

    Thanks ever so much in advance! :)

    Best regards
    Frederik

    A rather bad movement photo as well:

    Not an expert here. But you're right to question the use of Arabic numbers. I've only see them on the so-called pie pan dials.

    It's a U.K. thing.

    There were always different dial styles.

    I think the dial is original and very nice.

    I too think the dial is correct. I am a bit more uncertain about the hands. Don't recall seeing steel references of this age without any sort of inlay.

    @Hnansen, have you tried googling the original sales advert? I can tell it's been sold on lauritz.com previously, so a search could well find it.

    One of the most worn Omegas I've seen. Nice to see quite a few watchmaker's marks in the case back, it has obviously been loved. Hard.

    Thanks! "U.K thing", is that a reference to the solid hands, or the dial layout itself?

    @ConElPueblo
    Thanks for your answer!
    I am very much in doubt about the hands as well. But perhaps as there are not black or lume inlay in the hourmarkers either, it could make sense that there aren't any in the hands?

    The seller stated that he purchased it from Lauritz, but i unfortunately haven't been able to find the original listing.

    Assuming it's not ridiculously priced, not sure what more you need. Two very knowledgeable posters give it a thumbs up and @ConElPueblo found another example of a dog leg case with solid hands.

    Around 875 euros.

    @efauser
    It was absolutely not meant as a disrespect to either @ConElPueblo or @gatorcpa.
    I know that they knowledge are vast, but they both seem to be not 100% sure about the dial or the hands, so further input/clarification would be nice.
    Perhaps from someone who owns one alike or with solid hands :)

    I don't think anyone thought your post to be disrespectful. My point was only that those two gave it thumbs up compared to, say, me giving you one.

    I see your point!
    What i meant was that i would like to hear, if someone owns an Constellation with solid hands, or in general had opinions regarding the dial :)

    It would be a bad sign for this watch if there's lume or inlay on hands while there isn't on the dial.

    FWIW, I don't think the asking price is outrageous, not at all. I guess that the index type is a bit polarising when selling the watch, but I'd say that they are rather nice. On the pie pan variants, they are one of my favourites.

    I agree that the price seems alright! I was mostly looking for a pie pan Constellation, but if one without cost almost half, it might be worth doing without! ;)
