Very new to the world of watches. Inherited this Constellation from my grandfather and interested in learning more about it. I like its simple lines.

Researched on the internets and believe it is a late 60's, gold cap on stainless steel, Caliber 751. Thinking I'd have the crystal replaced and have it serviced.

Thoughts on the watch? Any reason to believe it isn't genuine? Can I open it myself (with the right tool) or should I leave that to the experts?

    Thanks,

    ΩG

Nice cal 751 model 168.029. Not in bad shape although at some stage someone has blackened the markers and hands, probably so your grandfather can see the time. Nice silky guilloche dial.

About all you'd need to know about these models can be found here

    Cheers

Got her cleaned up and attached a generic black leather band. Thank you to all for sharing.
