    Hi guys,
I ve just come across this piece, dog legged rose gold cap. From my own assessments:
    - dial looks original with a bit blemish
    - crown looks original
    - lugs look polished and no sharp bevel
    - caseback looks ok with 8 stars still visible
    - strap maybe vintage omega, but buckle is aftermarket for sure
    - still has yellow gasket, but is serie #19672xxxx too early for a 168.005??

What do you guys think? is it worth ~ 1500usd?

Bear in mind that I speak from an European viewpoint, but I don't think it's awfully overpriced. A serviced, yellow gold-capped 168-005 pie pan in that condition could well be sold for something like $ 1,500 here, and a rose gold one would command a nice premium. IMO, the facets don't look awful, far from it. Look at the bezel, which is still pretty crisp.

I can't make out the reference on the case back, does it say 168.005?

At the price mentioned, I would be tempted.

19.6 isnt too early for a cal 561 168.005. It's at the cusp of the 14902/168005 changeover. Looks generally tidy to me.

You cannot get better advice than from mondodec on this matter. I owe him a lot when getting my Constellations.

19 should be from 1962. IMO this wtach looks legit though the Omega lettering looks a bit weird. Let's wait for Demon if he's around there.

    Thanks alot for your advise.
As Kwijibo advised, the letter in Omega logo seems abit off to you?

Hmm, I was thinking if the shot had a greater resolution then you may find it okay. It may have come off and been refitted, the A looking as though it may have lost a tiny bit off the end. Overall though, it looks like a genuine casting.

Got a deal at less than 1400 for this. it arrived today and I tried to take some photos right away. The dial is not as nice as my yellow gold cap, it has tiny marks visible in certain light due to degradation but surely got some character for its old age.
Other than that case and lugs still strong and crisp. I hope it is not a bad deal for this kind of money right?
