Hi, Just signed up but have been lurking for a spell. I have a few nice watches but want to go the vintage route. Preferabbly around the time I was born. Corny huh..... Anyway....A few questions. Is there a guide to the desireability of vintage Omegas. Like is a seamaster more sought after then a constellation and so forth. I'm thinking from what I have seen and read that for a constellation model a pie pan is more sought after. I will definitly buy what I like but would like to have some knowledge about things... I was looking at one on e bay and was wondering if anyone had any advice on it. I have looked at the different sites for spotting fakes and such but its pretty hard for me even when its pointed out right in front of me in the pictures. Also trying to get a feel for prices. I think this one might be a bit hi but I am just getting my feet wet in this. Any help will be appreciated....cheers http://www.ebay.com/itm/280892354129?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Hi and welcome. You gotta post pics of what you have. Forum rule! Not corny at all - several of us do this. I have quite a few watches from my birthyear of 1966. http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.com/ It's not exactly the answer to your question but Desmond's site is chocked full of great info. Yes, it's a little high considering the big ding in the edge near 8:00 and the case being rebrushed. If it were in better physical condition it would merit that kind of price maybe. I'm also not sure if that's the correct crown but it certainly is from the same era.
