Hi guys,

While waiting for it to arrive here is my new find

Looks like its for early Constellation but can't find anything simmilar except this thread https://omegaforums.net/threads/new-30mm-chronometer-ot-2366-has-arrived-immaculate.64996

Crack is visible on the front side of leather strap but condition looks good overall. There is plastic sheet inside which is missing in thread above. Very interesting way of promotion.

Bonus:

Seamaster calendar broschure from 50's written in German.

It says, if my German is correct, that 32 000 R. A. F. pilots used Seamaster. Do you know what model are they reffering to?

Best regards

Cool piece of advertising 😎

I’m not sure how well their marketing would have gone over with the Germans: “I don’t suppose that you remember the RAF from a few years ago, but they had cool watches and now you can too!”

Hi @Zapatta and thanks for sharing. Really cool stuff.

It does say at the beginning that 32.000 RAF pilots wore a Seamaster "under cold arctic weather as well as in tropical climates and above salty sea air". No specification of the model but I think this is just a gimmick...

I never read anything about issued Seamasters, but rather that the technological improvements (such as rubber gaskets) made during WW2 for issued RAF watches lead Omega to create the civil version of the watch people then came to know as the Seamaster.

But really interesting anyway to read this all in german. The other parts of the text are a description of the individual parts of the watch and how it's structure prevents water intrusion etc.

@DaveK yeah, I also found the fact they chose to remind german costumers of the 50s of the RAF watches a confusing marketing strategy at the very least... 😁

Guys, thanks for responses. Yeah, its looks weird to advertise RAF to German customers. 😗

First that came to my mind were issued Seamasters 300 but they are from 60's era right? Would love to find out what specific model are they reffering or is it just a marketing bullshit.

More pics to come after arrival.

There is another advertising piece from Omega referencing that RAF pilots wore Omegas (among other watches) during the war. I came across it earlier this week on another forum.

Was that advertisement specific about which line was worn (Seamaster?) or just Omega in general?

Yeah, it was me trying to gather more information about it, but no luck! 🤔

@Bill Sohne said that he had seen only 3 similar cut-outs, for pocket watch, 30t2, and this one. So it must be "rare" find.
