Constellation Pie Pan

Hi. I've been offered a Pie Pan for purchase. The seller said that his grandfather is the original owner, and he has inherited it. There aren't any inside photos provided unfortunately. What can you subtract from the three photos I've been provided with? Is the dial original? Case unpolished? Can you tell if the crown is right from the photo? What is a good price for this piece? Thanks

Case may be fake as well? I don’t like how close the stars are to the outside edge in the medallion.

Not loving the dial either. Font on “Constellation” is totally wrong and arms of the star look wrong. “T” on dial, but no tritium is present on the dial.

My guess is that this is a fake dial.

Fake case and dial. Look at the star array on the back.

I think it's a good thing you asked the experts. I would have said it looks great.

Not sure how I’ll ever get to repay you guys. Thanks a lot. I’m surprised at how this punk lied through his teeth

Not to pile on, but I will😎 for those that follow..........The tip of the star is too close to the lettering, printing too bold plus crosshair, font in Constellation wrong.

Good catch. But also, the seller may not be aware of any of this either. Maybe inform them with your decline and maybe they won’t try and sell it to someone else as “real”.

I know what you mean but he said it’s a one owner watch that he inherited from his grandpa

He could be making all of it up, I agree. But on the off chance that he’s not, I wouldn’t automatically assume. But it’s your call how you handle it.

He took the ad down 👍. I let him know what you everyone said and his response was "Ok I don’t believe so but I’ll take down the ad while I check it out from my own watchmaker."

Wouldn’t be the first time some watchmaker who’s not particularly into vintage Omegas looks at a watch like this and announces its originality. And then, who does the seller trust - a watchmaker or some random guys on the internet?
