Dear Omega Forums, I am in the market for an Omega Constellation Pie Pan. However I am new to the watch community and have virtually zero knowledge on differentiating real from fake and original vs. redial etc. Now I think I've found a beauty, but it looks almost to good to be true. It is said to be from 1966 #24460xxx with the only replacement being a new crystal (Omega 063PX5016). Could you help help me? Thanks in advance! (pictures below)
You'll need to post better, higher resolution pics if yo want to know whats good and bad with that watch.
+1 On the 5th and 9th picture the "o" in "officially" seems to be off, but you can't tell if it's just because of the bad resolution or if it's a real problem...
Ps: the bracelet in your last pic doesn't seem to be attached on the watch and there seem to be at least 3 elements without golden finish below the 6 o'clock marker. These things alone would raise some question marks if I saw this ad.
Thanks for the quick replies. I will post better quality pictures in the morning (on a night shift right now). Already thought it was to good to be true
Well it still might be a good deal. But these pics are anything but conclusive. Btw: what is the asking price? And did somebody actually scribble on the medallion? I can't really tell because of the resolution, but there seem to be some marks (from writing?) on the medallion on the caseback
As for the watch Nice dial The lugs are a little rounded - especially the lower ones If you have a look at the similar gold cap Connie posted you'll see those lugs are sharper And the crown is worn of course Decent medallion but it does have something scratched into it €1300? From the pics of the movement in bits It does appear to have been serviced So you can take that into account in the price A nice watch but not a 'collectors piece' because of the lugs So value for money depends on what you are after Hope that helps
It looks all original to me, but the extra polishing takes it out of the "collector grade" category. However, the price being asked is high for the condition. If it were under US$1,000, I'd say grab it. Otherwise, it's not worth the price. gatorcpa
Thanks for your advice. I will take a look at it Monday in person and see if I think it's worth the price!
