·Picked up another faulty omega constellation
I originally purchased this just for the case as the movement wasn’t working correctly the date wheel was stuck and wasn’t overly priced i think. I have a lovely constellation pie pan I was hoping would fit but unfortunately the dial was hitting the tension ring on the inside of the crystal and wasn’t sitting correctly didn’t really want to rip it out finding it still wouldn’t Fit
If anyone knows a reference number for a compatible case that fits a 561 pie pan would be much appreciated looking for another dogleg ideally .
So I thought I’d have a look at the movement and see if I can repair after removing from the case the dial is in quite good condition
The case is slightly worn and the crystal was very scratched got the old POLYWATCH out ( amazing stuff) litte elbow grease and here’s a before and after
Now onto the movement carefully removing the hands and dial revealing the top side of the movement I’m fairly confident in doing this I just won’t tear it down to much as it’s beyond my experience levels lol
Noticed the little pressure spring the hold date wheel has slipped probably been dripping but wasn’t sure if it had any more further damage inside so I removed the cover plate and didn’t really see anything damaged or out of place so I put it back together and flicked the little leaver back on the date wheel and put all back together found a fitting bracelet and it’s been running for over 24hr date changed at perfect at 12 and is keeping good time fingers crossed it was a simple fix on this one
