So after doing some research I've decided that my next purchase will be a steel pie pan constellation. I preferably want one similar to the pictures below. With a date. What reference number should I be looking for and which movement is correct for this model? Also, what is the correct bracelet for this model? I just want to make sure I am making a correct decision when purchasing.

Do a search on chrono24 for 'constellation piepan' and another for 'constellation pie pan'. On the left expand the filter for reference number, and you'll see the references listed there. There are a few missing but that's a good start. A google search for 'constellation pie pan history' pulls out a few good leads.

the case style you have shown is a 'dog-leg' case which can be either 14900 or 168.005 after 1963(?) (167.005 also but less commonly)
the dial is of course a pie-pan but they also come with a dome dial (see mine below)
the correct crown is the one shown in your pics (no longer available if you want to replace it)

there is a range of movements that were cased in this style
I think all the way from cal 551 (14900) in the late 50's right through 561 to cal 564 in the late 60's and 1011 (168.0065) in the mid 70's (in Japan)

the Connies can have both 5 bead and 7 bead Bead of Rice bracelets or leather straps -I think you chose when you bought the watch (bracelets were probably more expensive) -so there is no 'correct' strap or bracelet

the main thing to look for is very sharp edges on the case and lugs -the one you have shown look quite rounded (polished)
also scrutinise the fonts on the dial -very closely -there are a lot of redials out there -even in retail shops
most importantly -if you are not sure -post any prospective purchases here for comment before you buy

    hope that helps

With date for the dog-leg style case, there are the 14902 (not 14900) with caliber 561, the 168.005 with cal. 561/564, and the 168.0065 wih cal. 1011. All of them have piepan as well as dome dials.

Also have a look at the encyclopedia on collecting Constellations http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.com.

You got it right with cal. 551 for the 14900, it just doesn't have date like the OP wanted. :) I actually like this reference a lot, it's also almost exactly the same as the 167.005 (which also has no date).

Just beware that many fake watches having ref. 14900 but come with a date dial and a non original movement.
