Hello, I have just tiny hope that it may be right but not really in fact. Someone ever saw this font on a constellation? Sorry for the crappy pic but there's a very low light. thanks all
Hi, that's what i thought. Bad redial. What made me think it could have existed is that tere are some old Genève with this type of font. I'm going to have it re done by a professionnal. By chance I know two good one. @Peemacgee it'as 18k case with a hammer movement, circa 1954. The crown is bad too. I'm going to change it. it's a shame because the quality of the print is quite good despite the ugly pic. Why one takes a wrong font when the printing is of a good quality... weird
here's a (little) better pic. Anyway, if you have a close look the 4 o'clock marker is not in the right position. I need to fix it.
Just my opinion, but... That case looks to have had it. Unless the photos make it looks worse than it is, the lugs are very worn away by polishing - and that bezel looks plain weird. Is it a French cased Constellation that I don't know of? Or is there a Swiss Constellation with a bezel like that? How does the case back look? Btw, the hour hand is wrong, should be a fair bit shorter.
Hi again. I think the case is french because the gold marking is an eagle head. The pic looks crappy. The case is a little (too) polished but not that ugly. As for the bezel it's bevelled. For the hands I admit that I don't know. Does someone know how the original crown looked like? EDIT : I saw that on the web. The web is not a reference. See the font of "Constellation" http://www.vintagegoldwatches.com/p...pink-gold-1957/#lightbox[productLightBox]/11/
Yes, and it says that the dial has been restored. You'll find that "Constellation" text on several other redials, just look at the "Worst Redials" thread.
The hands aren't right, much too long and missing a facet. It could well be a redialed French Constellation though judging from the case shape, here's an article of Desmond's covering them: http://omega-constellation-collecto...8/a-french-omega-constellation-2648-seen.html And here's mine with calibre trois cent cinquante-quatre, a 2648 à la française!
Hello Cristos, It really look like this case. I find the minute hand much too long too. it sould be touching the points on the dial but no more. Cab I ask you how the markings are inside the caseback? thanks
No reference number, a French case number and old style Omega logo, gold hallmark on the outside of the caseback.
OK thanks. Mine is flatter and bevelled. I have some doubt about its autenticity. the marking is the same nevertheless.
