A better question is how much will it cost to keep it running.

Thanks for your fast response , really? I still have no chance to open it to check the internal condition.

If I was in your shoes, I would read up on these watches and become a bit more educated.

They can be very reliable, and at the same time can fail at a moments notice and the pool of watchmakers who can or want to service them is very shallow.

That's a bit strong for that watch, even from a dealer, unless it is solid gold. On eBay you can pick one of these up for a few hundred dollars, although asking prices have been rising a little lately. (I am a huge fan of these watches and check sales for these a couple of times a week) I would think that upto 500usd from a dealer would be all its worth and that is still a bit strong. You can also point out to them that if the watch stops it's an expensive fix so you would be taking a risk.
In the past year I have bought a NOS cone f300 for 500usd and a little bit knackered waffle dial constellation for 200usd. They are not popular amongst collectors but do have a small following in the watch collecting community. I would say that the OP model is not a desireable model even for those of us who like these watches. If you really like it and can get it for a sensible price then buy it otherwise keep looking.

Agreed. In short working hummers are great but that is tatty, the looks are a challenge IMO and it probably should be nearer $350-450 if running right, half that if not. These are easy and cheap to fix and service if you are in the UK, much less so elsewhere though in the USA some Accutron specialists can sort these too.
