Hey guys, I have a counter offer on this watch. Can you tell if the dial has been repainted? I'm a little concerned about the Chronometer font. Here's Desmond's article on these. http://omega-constellation-collecto.../omega-constellation-de-luxe-penultimate.html His first picture shows that these watches don't necessary pass the MOY test but are still vintage. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Ome...twatches&hash=item1c38049bc0&autorefresh=truePurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I just couldn't get by the Swiss Made and the spacing. I messaged the seller about the dial being possibly redialed and the auction is now closed. Assuming he made a side deal for it. Oh well, I just wasn't comfortable with it. Next time!
In PS the top of the A is flat, but the camera has produced a double image either through vibration or tripod head creep on a long exposure, but neither of those can account for the script being so distinct over the minute hand
If you mean the hour hand, that is the reflection of the hand on the gold dial you're seeing. My question is...shouldn't the Omega on the dial be applied like on any other Constellation of this period?
Not on the 2699 and 2799. Printed ink is correct for this model (a 2799). EDIT: I think the 2700 was the first applied gold OMEGA.
S'alright. It ain't easy to remember all this crap. I've been at it 5 or 6 years and still screw up these early Constellations.
