Considering this watch. I've always wanted one. It's from a dealer friend that has an estate business. Great friend for over 20 years. I can have it looked at and return it before he closes the estate so no stress of getting burned. I can't take the back off until I see a jeweler friend to get the movement info. I see some have line up and down and across and some have date. This has the lines but no date. It's the gold with s.s.
Any info is appreciated, and I will get movement info as soon as I can. Strap not original and not sure if restored. Keeps excellent time.
    Thank you
Joe. BTW I am new here.

Looks to me like a refinished dial, and a pretty heavily polished case. Add in that it is gold filled, and that all results in a watch with limited appeal to many.

    welcome @Ocjoe949
The case is definitely heavily polished - that would be enough for a pass from me.
I've been staring at the dial for the last 10 mins and there is something not quite right about it.
Something going on with the 7 marker - replaced?
and why such damage to other indices? - how does this even happen?
Whilst $700 might seem like a good deal - My advice would be to keep looking
    hope that helps

I'm no expert but why would the dial be refinished? MOY is ok, indexes look fine, swiss made seems right, cross hair lines ok or am I missing something?$700 for a pie pan dial is a nice price. I saw goldplated domed dials sell for over a EUR 1000. And these were with polished cases. If the dial is ok I can not see you go wrong with $ 700.

But before you take my advice, I bought two refinished connies in the past... So maybe it's better to wait for the opinion of the connie experts...:)

Definitely a redial. The font isn't quite right, serifs missing and letters the wrong shape, the main tell being the two n's in Constellation which are identical when they shouldn't be. It's an extremely good effort though, far better than most redials. Agree with PM that the 7 marker is wrong, looks like a straightforward replacement.

I agree with above comments regarding redial. It just doesn’t feel right and that would be enough to put me off. Very good effort though and would fool the vast majority.

The dial has, IMO, been refinished - but not without skill. I don't think that I'd be able to tell without close-ups... The "tells" for me was the slightly-off fonts, the too thick crosshairs and the intersection of the crosshairs and the Constellation text. I don't think that the crosshairs kiss the "e" quite so much on any references.

In addition, there is something wrong with many of the markers, not just the 7 o'clock one. It would appear that the onyx inlay on quite a few of them has fallen out (?) and replaced/not replaced with a different material.

The main tell for me is the gap between ‘i’ and ‘o’ in Constellation is too big.

I took a look at all of my connies and you're totally right about the n's. Never knew this. The last n should be more curly then the first. Is this always the case?

Here Endeth...The Lesson....Forgers (or any euphemism) will continue toiling til they .... get it just right. Still, as @Edward53 @ConElPueblo and others point out, friends here on OF with a developed ‘gut’ for these will tell you something is off about the dial. The uneasy gut will save you a bundle over time. Good luck on the search @Ocjoe949 ... keep training the eye too

It jumped out at me that the three lines of text below the logo were not parallel with the horizontal line. Even taking into account the photo is not straight on, the text still appears off a bit when compared to the line (I measured roughly on the screen on both sides). It even looked like the hand placement in the photos may have been to try and conceal the issue.
