Has the caseback been replaced? Just picked up this 168.005, someone asked if it was a replacement so I thought I would ask. ::confused2::

Looks pretty crisp overall. Got a shot of the inside?

It looks to be missing one star.

I've bought this same question up in a past thread (i'm sure Ashley will hunt it out ) I mentioned to Dennis about different amounts of stars, also on some constellations the observatory has brick work on its design.

Pictures showing brick work, and no brick work. Both with 8 stars.

I think it's there, in person it's very faint and there's a lump in that spot. Not sure why it's like that and why it's the only star worn.

There's 8, but the star in question is worn almost off - just like Kyle's watch.

Looks correct to me - and in nice shape too.

    It looks fine to me.

I think some of the earlier 5-digit references came with gold medallions on steel cases . Not the 168.005. Should be all steel with no brickwork and that's exactly what you have.

Saw this on your website the other day and I now have the opportunity to congratulate you on a very nice purchase!

    Take care,

    So do I.

Coloring of the medallion looks a bit off. But at first glance, it would probably fool me.

Anything funny looking on the inside, Hoi?

I would probably be tricked too. I should probably study Constellations a little more!

Your pictures show why close inspections are a must when buying a pie-pan Constellation. Unless one is buying with a right of return, it's best to only buy these from known sources.

Even my example came with an incorrect bridge, but I was lucky enough to find a correct replacement from a parts house.

    Take care,

Makes you realize just how scary it is out there. Also makes me realize I'm tickled to have the pieces I do. Should make the n00bs happy to know they have a place to ask questions like this forum.
