Constellation - Case Pivot End Link Broken

Hello. My dad recently passed and my brother and I found his old Omega Constellation amongst the laboratory of sartorial experiments he's left behind. Sleuthing these forums, domestic & international Ebay sales, and various vintage watch sites has uncovered what I think are some specs of my dad's watch (any further insight would be greatly appreciated):

CONSTELLATION
1987
DB 396.1070
White face "hibou" day-date
Quartz 1444 movement
1448/431 18k full-bar bracelet

The watch and bracelet are in good working shape, except for one of the case pivot links has a broken & lost end tube (visible in the pictures). I'd like to find a replacement for just that one link that attaches to the watch case, but all I've found online is for a complete (half bar) OEM bracelet, reproduction bracelets, and extension links. I've so far come up empty-handed after taking it to several authorized dealers and the local Omega Boutique. I'm hoping someone here can help.

I know the quartz Constellations are not very collectible, but the value in this watch for me is memory. I'm just starting my watch collection (first is a weekday Sinn 556A) and I'd love to wear my dad's Omega as a dress watch to complete a 2 watch collection. I'd also be interested in possibly shelving the broken bracelet and putting the case on a leather strap, but not sure one for this watch case exists. Again, I'd love some guidance. Thanks for reading.

The first problem is that the end link that goes up against the case is not a separate part - it's part of the strand of permanent links that are on each side of the case. The links in that strand can't be bought individually like the removable links can be, so you would have to buy a complete strand.

The second problem is that the strand is no longer available for this bracelet. So the only option for new parts is to buy an entire bracelet, which is certainly cost prohibitive.

If you want to salvage the bracelet that is on the watch, you might try talking to a goldsmith that has a laser welder - it's possible that they may be able to weld the broken parts back together with sufficient strength to allow the bracelet to be used again.

I looked up the case number you have, and tried to search for straps that are for that case, but no results came back. You could look at getting a custom made strap for this watch.

Cheers, Al
