··Ash @ ΩFI'll preface this with:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-CONST...954475584?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item19d566f040
Its a Ref BA 168.019 in yellow gold with a Cal 751 Day-Date movement
The caseback is a mess, the engravings have been half polished off, badly, and the medallion is a dog's breakfast. The case is dinged and dented, and I have no interest in buying this watch, however I'm curious about the case.
The case has a cross-hatching pattern engraved into it that almost mimics the pattern of the silky guilloche dial. I know there were some jewellers that did this kind of thing aftermarket but also Rolex and others did it from the factory on some models (Some 1803 Day Dates have it, and also Bark finishing, neither of which looks attractive if you're under 80 years of age). I'm just wondering if this likely left the factory like that or if it was something done after the fact
