Hey guys, I have the opportunity to purchase this watch from an Ebay auction that fell through. I was the second last bidder. The pictures are only from the outside of the watch. The seller has not opened the watch / does not know how/ just not willing to risk it. I tried explaining to him how to tell if the watch is a bumper verion, slowly move the watch back and forth and listen / feel for the bump. He does not think it is a bumper, too bad! The pics are new from an iPhone. Price is under $2,000.

What do you guys think? Case reference #? Movement #? condition? concerns?

Wouldn't want to comment on authenticity since I don't own a solid gold example. If I were going off first impressions however I would say the case is pretty sharp, dial looks original, some ageing but not a deal breaker if under 2k. Wait for others to chime in.

guessing it's a 2852 or 2652 from the caseback Observatory.
probably 2652 bc of arrowhead markers.
which would make movement 354 i think.
These ref.s had very defined background
    crown i think is wrong
case condition seems good, maybe polished once lightly.
    bezel and caseback angles sharp

I think it's a 501 or 505 full rotor, but I'd agree the case is probably a 2852. Crown is wrong as assessed by pitpro too. Bezel okay - could be nice if they're as poor a bunch of pictures as they seem.

dial fonts look ok, but inexperienced seller
he should never have covered them with the hands
$2000 is pretty decent price but gold has taken a
tumble so you have that going for you

    Is a 2652 a dome dial and a 2852 a pie pan dial?

Case looks OK, see if he has a return policy. Once you have it in your hands you might not like the patina on the dial.

I'm not expecting a return policy on the watch. It's coming from Germany and I'm in Canada.

I know lighting can play tricks but the seller does say the dial is gold and not white / cream. Does this look like a gold dial to you guys?

This is a nice watch! I know you guys really like rose / pink gold but if I'm actually going to wear a watch, it has to be yellow gold!

I was willing to possibly jump if the watch had a gold dial and go with a 505 movement. I think I will pass on the watch because I'm willing to wait for the watch I really want. Constellation 18K gold dial with broad arrowheads and a bumper movement, 352 or 354.

Thanks for your help guys! It really helps to be able to bounce these kinds of decisions around like this!

Good decision. I think you will find a watch with those specifications, no problem. Persistence will pay off. Good luck! :)

The line forms around the back of the forum. :D

Man, I think the 18ct bumper Constellations are on EVERYONE'S list if they don't have one already.
