I have been close to pulling the trigger on at least 3 vintage connies but am super hesitant of buying online and still have nothing to show. Have a few questions I thought I'd post to get replies before making a decision on this one. Apologies if these are newbie questions, I haven't been into collecting that long... 1. I read somewhere that on this model only the case back is 14k gold? Is that true or is the case and bezel also 14k? 2. The constellation symbol on the back seems over polished, does that throw up any red flags? 3. I have done the Desmond MOY test and it appears to check out, are there any other indications this is not original or has been reworked in any fashion?

Ok - whole case is solid 14k gold - the MOY test doesn't apply to these models -you are right, the caseback is massively overpolished, which means it isn't in "collector condition" the whole watch is massively overpolished. So the advice around here would be to walk away and find a better example. These models should have sharp edges. This watch looks completely rounded from polishing
Looks heavily polished. And heavily priced for a 14k. Seems like a "shine it up real good and sell for $$$ based on the resulting bling" type of watch.
That's what I was afraid of but being relatively green I wanted other opinions . Any of you have suggestions on sites/sellers that are trustworthy? I've been looking for almost 2 years (on & off) and this seems to happen every time I Find something I like. Ps if you have sellers/sites I'm open to many brands but looking for a dress watch (gold/leather). Appreciate the help!
Watch here on OF. You cannot post in Buy/ Sell until you have 200 posts, but you can message the sellers.
I'm open. The others I found prior weren't the c-case, I believe one of them was 168.014. But I like the older models as well. I'd prefer 561/564 movement but again, I'm open.
