Constellation 2943-3sc, lume instead of onyx inserts.

    This watch is up for auction on Jan 29. It seems to me that during service onyx inserts were switched with lume. What do you think? Could this really be correct?

    Yes it’s correct, dials can have onyx, lumed or plain indices.

    Do you have anymore pics of case back, movement etc?
    So far going off that one pic it looks great!

    The rule that was told to me is that lumed indices are always accompanied by lumed hands. In this respect I think it looks ok to me but better pictures would be helpful

    Thanks for your replies. Here's a higher resolution picture the auction house was kind enough to provide. Based on that, I think it is a redial (uneven script, glue or lacquer spots at markers 8, 9, pitting of the dial surface). It looks good though.

    My inner voice says legit!

    What makes me wonder is the auctions house description:
    "together with 'Omega End Consumer Warranty' papers detailing service undertaken dated 13.03.2018 with a parcel of replaced components and modern case."

    That other photo really is an eye-opener. Redialed and relumed with odd bumps on the dial surface.
