Hi, I have been looking into this particular Constellation. It seems legit but I am not sure in regards of the the dial, in particular, the logo. Looks a bit off, but all the other fonts seem to match. The crown is not original, so is the crystal, the case is cracked, the movement is not in the best of condition, and I am not sure if it is the right rotor, and the 501 serial number is 14684xxx which points to the year 1954 roughly, but this connie came out in 1956. Not sure it's right, is it a franken-connie ? The caseback seemed to be over-polished at some point of its life. But if the dial is original and the movement match, I was thinking of rescuing this connie and source the original crown, crystal etc. So, what do you guys think ? Any advice ?
Run away! That's one ugly watch with many problems...redial..wrong crown..wrong seconds hand...hour/minute hands don't look right to me...beat up movement...cracked bezel....
Cracked wrong bezel even! I am pretty sure that except from downright fake Constellations, this piece is the worst I have ever seen.
It could very well be, I thought that it had maybe been polished...completely flat! Anyway I need a laugh today, @mchanif, what's the asking price on this little gem?
New bodyshell, bare doors, etc only 10 grand to you sir. And you thought watch repairs were expensive. I didn't believe the 10,000GBP when a local MGB owner told me, so checked ... ....yup
