    Hello,

I have found a nice-looking Constellation dating back to 50s and wanted to double check what you guys think about it.
    My remarks:

    - It seems to have the original crown (its shape appears to fit this model as well)

    - Reference no. (2852) seems to be ok and match calibre no. 501

    - As the Seller claims, it has not been renewed, apart from the case being polished, which is rather obvious given the below pictures

    - My biggest concern here is the word 'Swiss' on the dial. I haven't encountered this version of 'Swiss made' mark anywhere, hence I have some second thoughts in that regard

    - This kind model was sold here some time ago: https://omegaforums.net/threads/vintage-circa-1950s-omega-constellation-2852-5-cal-501.5850/

I would appreciate your comments on this, thanks in advance.

    Thanks for comments.

As for number 9 - it caught my attention in the first photo as well, but I guess I could deal with this particular element.
What do you think about that 'Swiss' indication on the dial? That's my biggest concern here, as the other aspects seem to be more or less fine.

Sorry to be obnoxious about that, but - what do you think about the bottom of the dial ('Swiss' instead of 'Swiss made')?
Any comments are welcome, as I'm trying to do a thorough research prior to the purchase. Thank you!

The dial looks original to me - not concerned about the Swiss only marking at the bottom as this has been seen usually in US delivered watches. Overall though it's a common constellation model and the other issues - age on the dial and overpolished case would give me pause.

I have a feeling that the overly bright lighting makes the bezel look somewhat more polished than it is IRL.

When these watches left the factory the bezels were shiny!

I meant that the light is so hellish, that it makes the edges less clear than they might be.

That was done to minimize the appearance of patina in the dial.

The only problem I see, and I'm not sure but out looks like there is lume on the hands and not on the dial?

I see it is now.. I feel stupid. Weird there's none at the 12,3,6,9.

I think the watch generally looks good even though it is not in "pristine" condition as some would prefer. Just factor this into the cost.

It still is gold furniture in a stainless case, probably the most wanted combination in decent condition.. I'd say outs worth a bit..

Thanks everyone for sharing your insights.
I'm happy to see it appears to be genuine and I don't mind overpolishing that much. I might soon receive some extra pictures, maybe they will give an extra overview on the matter.
