View attachment 761196 Hi to all
I am new to the forum. Just recently I inherited a 14ct Omega Constellation 2468 with calibre 354 bumper Automatic. The case no is around 12mil and movement 14mil. At first I thought the watch has a black repainted dial but after closer look it seems to have a black enamel dial with white scripts. The writings, second indexes and cross hair lines has a thin gold wire as an outline and countersunk into the dial surface (cloisonne?)
Does anyone has encountered such dials ? Or is this an aftermarket dial.
I am in the process having it fully serviced and hope I can share a photo of the back of the dial

    Best regards

    +1 as they say.

Could be aging of the gold plating.

    Hi and welcome.

Can you also supply a straight on photo of the dial?

Printing on an original black dial with gold figures would be gold.

But this is not printed/painted more a white insert into the dial with thin gold wire outline like a cloisonne enamel method..I wish I know how to take a microscospic pictures to show it better

    I highly doubt that.

Looks like a dial repainted in high-gloss black. The white is printed on top of the glossy black paint, so it looks "raised" over the surface.

Original Omega black dials from this era only have gilt printing. This is clearly not gilt.

18k Rose gold - I could convince myself it has a light pinkish tinge when viewed from certain angles but still looks more white than pink.

OP's watch is definitely a redial (Constellation script is easiest tell) but quite attractively done I think.

It has a much later style applied Omega sign and also an applied 'Omega', neither of which are correct for a 2648, so which ever way you look at it....

IMO redial. Original black dials for this case reference are among the hardest to find. From my observation as rare as plank dials.

Regardless, it’s a great watch to wear. Attractive and well done.
