I have trouble finding reference numbers for original bracelets for the specific 168.029.
Was the watch ever issued with a steel bracelet? I have not found conclusive evident of a reference number.

Can anyone help?

It is 1040 with 518 endlinks i think.

 

Looks like one of the 1171 variant with at least 1 incorrect end link, the 516.

There are at least 3 bracelet options for the C case Connies and correct end links are important to ensure proper fitness.
