So I purchased a 16600 from Hqmilton recently, still waiting for it to arrive.

I've consolidated some funds and looking for either a GMT (16710, 16750)... well here's some considerations.

    1) Value. I'm looking for a gmt-ish type of watch that can hold its value. Some say the boat has left, regarding prices for 16710/16750, prices now are at its highest premium)

    2) Something not that vintage, yet modern enough. So 5 digits Rolexes are pretty ideal to collect.

Whats your views? I've a budget of about 7000 USD.

    Thanks

I think you might be able to do a glossy white gold surround marker 16750 for that in decent shape......7000 should be able to get you a decent example non full set 16710 also. In terms of value..I think the 16710 is getting near the plateau (but that's what we said last year and two years ago)...but the 16750 (talking about the matte dial one) is finally beginning to get the attention it deserves. I actually prefer my 16750s usually to my 1675s because of the convenience of quickest for wearing...I'd go for the matte dial 16750 if I were you (room to grow in value)...save up a bit more and make it happen...and welcome to the rabbit hole of vintage Rolex.

Apologies for the late reply! Tapatalk didn't notify me of your reply :3

I see! Great, I'll keep an eye out for the 16750. Thanks for the advice once again @sensui

BTW should i be looking at tritium dials ones? Or Swiss/ swiss only? I prefer tritium cause of the aging possibility.

If you can save up a bit more, I'd go after a nice 16750 matte dial with tritium. A nice example probably would be 9-11k pending on how nice and correctness. It's pricy but I think they have room still to grow because it's made in far less numbers than 1675 and sports a superior movement...really increased in value over the last year as it's being discovered.

You have your numbers transposed. 16570 vs 16750.
Some very good deals on Explorers, not the most sought after..
