Considering this as my first Omega watch

I came across this omega watch on substack and wanted to see what you guys thought. It’s gold capped gold linen Constellation 168.017 going for about $1k on eBay. Is this a contender or should I focus on the recommended watches on this forum instead?

Thanks for all your help on my first omega!

Hi ! I have the exact same watch, from 1972, bought for 650.€ ( a few years back) .. the watch for sale is a bit more scratched and needs for sure a service to get the accuracy below +/- 10sec/day
Good luck for your purchase

Thank you for your response. I was wondering from looking at the pictures of this watch if the crown was replaced? On your watch. Do you have an omega symbol debossed on the crown of your watch?

Yes indeed , there is an Omega symbol on the crown .. I believe to secure the right crown should not be an impossible task !! 😇

I have a real weakness for constellations from the late 60s. The cal 564 movement is a reliable one and although many people are disparaging of gold capped cases, I like them on the omega watches of this period. You are right, the crown has been replaced, but its not an impossible job to find a replacement, and I think the price is a little high. Kaplan is a C-case whiz and its worth seeing if he has anything for sale.
