    Hello!
So I've been on the look out for a vintage watch and I find myself really drawn to the oversized dials of the jumbo's from the 1940s-1950s. I've looked online (chrono24) and I've narrowed it down to two choices, but I'm not sure on their authenticity and value...I'm quite new to vintage omegas (and vintage watches as a whole), so I must admit that I've made this choice purely based on aesthetics...! The price point of the two are pretty much the same ($1750 USD), so I was wondering if the two differ a lot on a technical level?

Any thoughts or opinions about either watches would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance :)

    Hi and welcome on OF

I'm not familiar with this model, others will hopefuly give you further advices...

From my point of view Chrono24 is a very expensive place to buy a watch

I think I can guess the seller of the second one from his kind of pictures, to be honest I wouldn't buy at him again (I did before)

    Take care

Hi! Thanks for your reply. Chrono24 seems to be the only place I can find a wide range of vintage pieces; have you had a negative experience there? Would you recommend other places to purchase vintage omegas?

The best and safest place to buy is right here in the private sales section.
If your patient and keep checking the listings something will come up you like.
All sales ads are a true reflection of the watches for sale as other members would quickly pull them up if described otherwise.
There are no restrictions on buying here but you need 200+ posts to sell.
    Good luck.

Chrono24 is ok I think, only expensive.

I have nearly all my watches from ebay

Take your time and gather informations about buying a vintage watch and the model you are going for

You can learn a lot here

I only want to add that both dials look repainted.

Those prices are frankly, obscene! Even if you bought BOTH for $1,750.00, in my opinion. It’s not wrong that someone would ask those prices, but it would be wrong to BUY at those prices. Stick around this MB, particularly the Private Sales forum. You’ll come away with a better idea about prices, and you might even find a watch. My Jumbo says hi!

i am pretty new here too but can only say that i wouldn't buy vintage watches on Ebay .... it's always better on a specific forum as at least the watch is seen by a lot of members that know a lot more about the watch than i do ... so it's a guarante for me
