Hello,

I'm an infrequent poster, but. long time reader of this fantastic forum. I know Seamaster 300s are a minefield... I'm considering purchasing this example, and wanted to get members' opinions. I've read all the relevant threads I can find, but am not knowledgable about this reference. I've learned a ton on this forum, and would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks so much.

For what it's worth, this is the explanation that Analog Shift gave me for the Seamaster "3000".

"Most likely our creative team used an AI-aided software to edit the photo and it added that extra 0."

Draw your own conclusions...

No doubt that AI is being used. What flaws might it be cleaning up for the listing.

........and would you trust someone so dubious?

Hi Dan, I've read many of your posts, and have learned a lot from you! I'm not going to purchase this watch. However, would you mind pointing out the flaws you see in the photos, so the rest of us can learn what to look out for?

I don't see any flaws, that's my point. What prompt did they give the AI to create something so completely fake, and what else might the photos be hiding since they are fictitious?

Actually, we might be wrong. This is the owner of Analog Shift.

That cracks me up!

I'm going to ask for some raw photos out of curiosity. I think this is an unedited image of the same watch.

Interesting. It's a crappy photo with all kinds of compression artifacts. Perhaps they can't take a decent photo, so they use AI to recreate them. It's very strange for one of the best known high-end dealers. Personally, I would just move on and try to buy a great watch from a real serious collector, instead of one of these profit-seeking jokers.

Thanks for all your input, Dan. Analog Shift just removed the "3000" image from the listing, so I'm glad I posted it here.

If I do get some decent raw photos, I'll add them to this thread.

I'm glad we have it preserved here so others can be warned. We have a Paperclip Boy, and now we have Mr. 3000. Honestly, I feel like this type of thing deserves the death penalty as a dealer.

It takes a lot less than that for me to not want to buy from someone!

AI to edit photos????? If it adds extra digits to a dial what else is it adding or removing.

This utterly destroys their credibility imo. How on earth can you be sure the photo is an accurate representation of the watch.

Pass. On this and every other watch they have for sale.

With a RAW-pricture from the seller. (to be discussed here - specialists desperately seeking )

In the last two images the bottom lugs look very strange, and misshapen. They have oddly sharp edges and the colour is different, with what looks like from the image being doctored.
