    Hi Everyone,

    I'm considering this Conquest 9000. My first concern is the lack of the usual lume rectangles protruding from the applied indices, as well as the lume missing from the hands. Opinions?

    Thanks! Ben

    No lume on hands or on dial. That's a match.

    PS - Just found the watch. The back enamel is in excellent condition.

    Thanks for the encouragement; I bought the watch.

    Looking into it a bit further, it looks like the earliest 9000 series Conquests had no lume on the dials nor hands. From what I can see, this watch I purchased is probably from 1954 or 1955. Here’s a 1954 Longines Conquest ad which seems to support this lack of lume.

    Mine is a 9000-3 (3rd "edition"), movement number 9573693, maybe 1954/55. IMG_8074.JPG IMG_7317.JPG

    Beautiful example, and I see yours also has no lume. How long of you had it? Any issues?

    I understand that the 9000 was the first iteration of the Conquest, but I didn’t realize that the last digit in the model number had anything to do with the timeline. Where did you learn about this?

    Hi Ben,

    as far as I know the 9000 is generally the reference number of all Conquests housing the Caliber 19AS (19ASD = "Calendar"/date = 9005).
    9000-1 to 9000-20 (not sure if there are 9000-21 or higher) points on the iteration (as you wrote). Also important the individual case number (143 on my watch, punched on the backside of the eleven o´clock lug and on the inner caseback.

    Thanks. Mine is scheduled to arrive to me on Friday, so I'm sure I'll post about it then. I already emailed Longines for the history of the watch (delivery year and place).

    Good luck. Pardon - I was a bit sloppy with the reference numbers of the Conquest 9XXX:

    9000 = 19AS - steel case
    9001 = 19AS - 18k gold case
    9002 = 19AS - gold capped
    9003 = 19AS - "de luxe"

    9004 = 19ASD - steel case
    9005 = 19ASD - 18k gold case
    9007 = 19ASD - gold capped
    9008 = 19ASD - "de luxe"

    9006 = 19AS - "All Guard"
