case looks correct to me see Desmond's site for details of fake 14900s -note especially the angles on the case body fakers didn't usually go to the effort of adding the wonderful pattern to the case back the Omega symbol looks odd -but there are many examples of 'squiffy' printing in case backs -but is something going on with the right hand lug in the bottom pic? -worth checking out if you are going to view it in person fonts correct cal 551 is correct for age 18XXM is correct period indices are a bit oxidised some bubbling on the dial alternative crown -I won't say incorrect -but more usually seen on 14381 cases BOR bracelet is a nice bonus nice Connie IMO -depends on the asking price I wouldn't pay top dollar due to the oxidation/bubbling EDIT lumen hands can't see any lume on indices -but may have been removed but lack of Ts not an issue at this period
the crown is wrong and I think it has too much stain on dial. that seem like it has some leaking somewhere and please take a look in movement closely good luck
Going to go look tomorrow at noon. Price is good, $650, or seems so to me. Edit to add: Seller says he bought this in the mid 80s from the original owner. I know, buy the watch not the story. I will try and look it over carefully.
good luck for your new watch. otherwise, You can wait and see in this sale forum. it always has great deal.
It might just be the picture, but the marker at the 12 looks ruff. The dial above it looks discolored also.
Funny - I was just looking this one over yesterday on Craigslist! Good luck with the transaction. Cordially, Art
I do have a question about the clasp spring pin. The spring pin seems barely long enough. Is this normal? I'm going to guess not. The one sticks out flush past the clasp sides. The adjustment one does not. What size do I need here?
This is a pressure fitting, you may be able to carefully press it flush, suggest removing the bracelet from the watch head prior to attempting
The right pin sticks out past the clasp sides. The left one seems too short like it barely engages the clasp sides. I'll measure this but thought someone might know what size to get here.
