    Hello Team,

What follows is a Constellation for sale near me in rural Canada. I’m more of a Speedmaster and Seamaster guy, though I’ve wanted to add a Connie to the collection for some time. My problem (one of...) is that I know little about the do’s and don’t’s of purchasing a vintage Constellation...but I just like them! The seller is not a watch pro and knows rather little of the mov’t, model, etc., of this piece. He is offering it for $1,350 CAD (895 EU; $1,006 USD). Your advice would be most welcome and I offer my thanks in advance.

Looks like a 14 k gold capped 168.005 with a repainted dial and wrong case back.
    Run.

And this is why I love OF. In less than one minute (timed on my Speedy, obviously) this newb gets the help he was hoping for. Thank you Noddyman and Hoipolloi. I am running bravely away.
