This Connie on eBay, from a former member with a penchant for exuberant description, is really bugging me
was 28 bidders and £330 when I started this thread - now 30 bidders and £550.... :cautious:

I can't post it in the 'worst redial' thread because in all fairness it isn't
However, let me place before you the evidence and then give me your thoughts

    ref: 167.005
    cal 551 movement
    yellow gold cap
yellow gold arrow-head black pie pan dial

uncommon combination - but all good so far?

hmm... not so fast my hale and hearty fellows

    quote:
" The Dial is A1 Mint and ALL ORIGINAL this is NOT a redial"

    quote:
"Deep ROSE gold 14k "Observation" insert."

    Serial number 25,689,xxx

    - and now some pics

I hope whoever wins it has a better understanding about what they are actually receiving. This was enough for me to finally drop him from Instagram -- which should cut the amount of pics I see every day in half :D

I've queried this watch with him and he's adamant it's all original!

Sure seems like the minute marks are all over the place, and are misaligned with the furniture at several locations. I suspect it looks okay if you are fully wired on caffeine, though.

Well the font in Constellation is 'unique' for starters - those Ts
The hour ticks are serifed - well some of them are :cautious:
Rose gold medallion and yellow gold everything else
And a 25,68 serial with an arrow head dial?!!

    Make your own minds up....

This is the reply I got from the seller after I had lost my patience a little:

It is my reputation and i am more than happy to uphold it if you want to believe this one is not right (for you) then so be it but if you would like a better look im more than happy to send you some very clear additional images for you to scrutanise =)

And remember its more likely to be right than to be wrong we KNOW what to look for we have years of combined experience and have sold black dial pie pans in their dozens if WE had any doubts we simply would not have listed it =)

I saw it and my first thought was 1967 and arrowhead markers?!?!?! Something wasn't kosher there.

I asked about this too but it looks totally original to me. SGR cases were known for small nuances like variations in case design and "discrepancies" while searching the internet I found another one....................................

Seems the rose gold insert is Legit. Also this is in worse condition.

I Asked Costa for more images and he obliged all looks legit to me.

Instead of Banging on about it, if your not sure, don't bid on it. If bidders are willing to pay the price, surely that is down to them.

The poor guy has been kicked off the Forum and cannot put his case forward. All seems a bit unfair. SAM_3553.jpg SAM_3553.jpg SAM_3555.jpg SAM_3558.jpg

Hi Kostas, very cute referring to yourself in the third person and pretending to be someone else yet again.

Shame I didn't catch it back in February when you used the account to compliment yourself on the fine repair work you had done on one of the watches you were trying to sell: https://omegaforums.net/threads/servicing-a-speedy-mk-40.53593/#post-652214

    Goodbye Kostas.

Medallion is fake, star on the dial is off (stylistically) and the dial is painted (incorrect).

    Pile of shit.

This guy is making a fortune selling this sort of rubbish.

So many poor newbies getting into vintage these days without knowing what is correct and him and his kind are preying on them.

Will report it too. Worth a try.

I'm not an expert so happy for someone to educate me, but (1) why would you fake a gold medallion and (2) the bottom one just looks a bit worn compared to the one above?

    1 - Lost or damaged

2 - Shape of the stars, execution of the observatory

Also note that a yellow gold case would not have a rose gold medallion.

Buyer emphasises it's a genuine, original dial. "Not a redial." He says.
The hour markers say otherwise. Is the seller a fool for trying to fool us or was he fooled himself? Or am I the real fool here?
