Were any Connie's produced without the chronometer/adjusted to 5 positions text on the movement? I ask since this item sold on ebay yesterday at not too high a price but didn't bid since I had the gut feeling that it had suffered a movement or at least rotor swap since the text wasn't visible on the 501 movement (my 505 movement pie pan has the text on the rotor). Was I wrong to think this:

Not to my knowledge. With these earlier Constellations, it is more likely that the rotor assembly was replaced, including the rotor bridge. This was a notorious weak spot of the 50X series of movements. It would also explain the color differential in the photo.

I have one just like it that I picked up on the cheap many years ago.

Yes, back in the day watchmaker just replaced the rotor if they got loose, dodged a bullet because the 501 certified rotor is impossible to find now.
Looks like the watchmaker switched the crown too.
