The bracelet that I have on my omega seamaster reference 166.0173 366.0832 is 1153/138 but when I look up the watch reference on the internet it shows me geneve watches with the bracelet ref 1181/215 and when I search for bracelet 1153/138 it shows me the bracelet with the case ring on it for geneve watches.
The serial on the movement is 42405370. Caliber is 1010.
I inherited the watch from my father in 2000. He bought it brand new in 1979-80.
I was wearing it and thee bracelet snapped and I lost a link so trying to find a suitable original bracelet.

According to an old Omega document, the correct bracelet for your watch is an 1181 215.

I didn't google the bracelets, but based on your research, it's possible that the clasp may have been swapped.

I don't remember him doing that but it is possible.
When looking at the underside the connection of the bracelet to the case it looks different to the connection of the 1181 that I saw photos of.
