I'm interested in picking up a Speedmaster 125, and this guy popped up on eBay today:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Omega-...125490686?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item19df986bfePurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

Sometimes photos can play tricks on you, but to me, it looks like this piece has suffered a somewhat goofy relume job. Am I being overly critical here?

It has been relumed - probably at the same time that the new hands were installed :coffee:

Ha! I noticed the squigly lume at 12 and wasn't able to see anything else. But yes, those hands are rather white for a 40 year old watch.

I think the lume plots should be nice neat rectangles rather than the half melted marshmellow look this one has. It is surprising how many of these LE watches there are for sale. Did any other models use this Chronometer certified movement?

It does seem insane that there are about five on eBay at any given time. I have to wonder how many of them are the same ones being resold over and over. As far as I can tell from looking into it, the 1041 cal. was only used on the 125.

Yep, that one was posted today, and definitely looks better. The only thing that bothers me is the $50 shipping charge. For whatever reason, I would rather pay $2000 with free shipping than $1900 with $50 shipping.

I'll keep an eye on it and see how the next six days go.

My particular pet peeve about eBay too. I'd like to know how a watch can be 'rare' yet you can't swing a dead cat without hitting another listing for one.

Here's another pet peeve - just about every Constellation listed has a Pie-Pan dial, whatever type of dial it actually is . . . and of course, is incredibly rare into the bargain :(

I've come to realise that in some parts of the world, words like Stunning Dial and Incredible Condition must actually mean dial repainted with a felt tip pen and case is a crappy polished rust bucket :(
