A rough looking wee b****r but can anyone see any redeeming features? Not had the chance to view it yet and do wonder if it's worth the effort, even at a low enough price.
I think it might just get away with a light polish and new crystal and crown. Dial looks really good. The bezel still has some line so it might be salvagable at the right price?
I've seen far, far worse. If the price is right I'd be up on that, and I'd use the fact that it /looks/ so shabby to argue for a better price
"Might" was my first thought, but if it's on the market without a crown Maybe only me but I would have had it tidied up a bit before selling.
Yes, I agree! but then in some ways it's a good thing because it's a little project, you might get a lot out of it, I think that's probably what my 551 looked like before it was cleaned up for mass appeal...You could source the part quite easily...I'd be more interested in seeing what's under the hood...
That watch looks like a good honest example worth taking a risk on if the price is low enough. Not really that concerned about the movement - bet it looks nice inside that case. Would bargain as low as you can and use the absence of a movement shot to your advantage - it's a risk worth taking IMO for this particular watch.
O Yes, going to have a shot. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Thanks to all for comments/advice, just got to see how canny a Scotsman can be
Dial looks almost perfect under all those scratches...I would gamble and buy it if the price was right!
Yes, but you would win even if there was patina because you like that. Not much of a gamble for a guy who digs leopard Constellations.
